If a program is using the driver, it should unconditionally send an 
InquireDev to a device. This is useful if the driver can establish in 
this way what kind of adapter is present on ACSI, for instance. My 
routines check here whether one is dealing with an ALIA, and/or with 
an ICD adapter. In the case of an ICD adapter this offers the 
possibility that the driver uses the ICD routines for Class-1 
commands.
