This option remains unselectable (greyed out) unless at least one window
is open. The active window is closed if it was opened by Thing or it was 
registered with Thing by another application via the AV Protocol with 
AV_ACCWINDOPEN.

In the latter case the owners of the window each receive a WM_CLOSED 
message.

Group windows in which changes have not been saved yet are only closed 
after a safety-query alert.
