View Ref-FileFile - Eject Thing
At last ;-) Thing can also eject interchangeable media. If no drive on the
desktop has been selected this menu entry always refers to the topped
window, as long as this is a directory window (or more exactly: to the
drive that is represented by the displayed path).
For ejecting the medium, Thing first tries this with the GEMDOS Dcntl()
command, which is understood by MagiC and most CD-ROM drivers, for
instance. If this doesn't work because this function is not supported,
Thing tries again via XHDI, if a corresponding driver (e.g. HDDRIVER,
HuSHI) is in use.
Unfortunately MagiC understands the Dcntl() command 'CDROMEJECT' a
little too well, because it can be applied even to hard disks,
which of course cannot be ejected. These will simply be parked in
that case, which may not be what is desired.
