Setup: Setting up Single-TOS Thing

Under Single-TOS, you should register Thing as an 'auto start' application
in the TOS desktop. Running Thing from the AUTO folder is not possible!

 1) Select file THING.APP
 2) Select 'Install Application...' (or similar function in your desktop)
 3) A dialog box appears to register THING.APP.
 4) Set 'Boot Status' to Auto

The following example shows the dialog box of Falcon TOS:

When re-booting the system, Thing is started automatically. In some circumstanes you may have to set the environmental variables AVSERVER and FONTSELECT to use Thing as an AV-server and font selector. When using GEMRAM from Martin Osieka, which is needed with some OSs if you use WINX, you can do this by adding the following contents to the file GEMRAM.ENV in the AUTO folder (or creating such a file): AVSERVER=THING FONTSELECT=THING Without GEMRAM you will have to use an 'environment setter' program, accessory or CPX. Examples are ENV.CPX by S. Robins, or Senf by Thomas Binder.
