Thing treats every object with the file extenders PRG, APP, TOS, TTP or ACC as an executable program. The case of the extender is ignored so 'APP', 'App' and 'app' are handled exactly the same. Under MiNT, files that have the 'x'-flag set are treated as TTPs. Depending on the setting in the 'Configuration' > 'System' dialog, disabled applications with the extender PRX or ACX can be treated the same as PRG or ACC. In addition, CPX modules (CPX, CPZ) and the extended CPXs (EPX, EPZ) provided by Freedom 2 can be treated as executable when used in conjunction with the program Space by Christian Grunenberg. Unlike files, program icons may have other objects dragged onto them. The names of these objects (files, folders, drives and even other programs) are passed as parameters to the program. Programs can be installed also as applications under Thing by selecting them and then calling the 'Applications...' option in the 'Extra' menu.
