View Ref-FileIntroduction: Windows Thing

Because Thing of course also displays directories, object groups etc. in
windows the following operating system specific features too are
supported:

  Iconify

Under modern operating systems such as MagiC (from Version 3),
MultiTOS (only with AES 4.1, which was never released officially),
N.AES, Geneva etc., non-modal dialogs, directories and object groups
have an 'Iconifier' ∆ icon available that, when clicked on, reduces
the window to the size of an icon. A double-click on the iconified
    window restores the original size.

  Send to background ('Backdrop')

Under MagiC/MTOS/N.AES or with WINX installed windows can be
'bottomed' i.e sent to the background. To do this click on the window
title bar or, under MagiC, click the 'Backdrop' ␟ button.

  HotCloser

Under MagiC there's a so called 'HotCloser' which makes it possible
to jump higher up the directory tree by holding down the mouse button
without going through all the intermediate stages. The mouse pointer
changes shape to a curved arrow:
index=248
If you do not like this behaviour of windows under MagiC you can switch off the 'HotCloser' in the 'Window 1' page of the 'Configuration' dialog.
