When using the programs NVDI or SpeedoGDOS, high quality vector fonts 
(in the formats Speedo, TrueType, and Type-1) are available also under 
GEM. As in supporting these font technologies some subtleties have to 
be taken note of, the following points are dealt with in this section:

   . Monospaced fonts
   . Font index and ID
   . Size of vector fonts
   . Height and width of vector fonts
   . Kerning
   . Positioning of vector text
   . Differentiating vector and bitmap fonts
